Preparing for the Reiki Attunement Ceremony
There are many different ways to perform Reiki Attunements. This course will guide you through 4 different ways to provide attunements.
All ways are effective as you use intention as the key and get out of your own way. Yes, it works! (This is where Lesson 17 : Your Helpful Video Vault in 1st Degree Training could come in handy for you if your mind keeps getting in the way)
As I take you through each way to do attunements, choose which one resonates with you and use that way in your own courses when you teach or attune another person to the Reiki Energy Flow.
Your students should be relaxed and open to the intention to become attuned to Reiki. During in person attunements, you will be in close contact with your students. You will be touching their hands, head and shoulders and blowing the "breath of life" into their crown, third eye and heart chakras.
Make sure your personal hygiene is in place with clean hands, good breath eg: Don't eat garlic just before attuning someone. Make sure you smell nice, deodorant, shower, mouth wash etc. Keep in mind that strong perfume or colognes can be overwhelming for some people too.
Refrain from drinking alcohol or taking other consciousness altering drugs at least 24 hours before any attunements (or giving Reiki). These substances lower your vibrational energy and you're not serving anyone when working from a lower frequency - self included!
Make sure the room that you will be performing the attunements in is fresh and cleared of any heavy energy. You could use Cho Ku Rei, Dai Ko Myo, Cho Ku Rei to clear the space before clients arrive.
Attunement ceremonies affect people in many different ways. Have tissues handy in case some people begin to cry as they release what's no longer needed or serving them. Some people will crack up laughing and some people will jolt their body as energy moves through them so be ready for this. It's a beautiful thing. Some will not seem to be affected at all and will incorporate the attunement energies over the coming days ahead.
Have a straight back chair for your student to sit on for the ceremony and make sure you have enough room to move around the chair as you perform the ceremony. I will show you all of this in videos as you move through the course.
Have your student remove any shoes before being attuned. This helps with grounding. As a Master, it is up to you if you prefer that your student remove any jewellery before attunements. Some people say that metal can hold the energy of attunements. As for me, I don't mind when a student wears jewellery or crystals. Remember that we are working with an energy that has wisdom far beyond what our minds can comprehend. I don't think a necklace or bracelet can get in the way of that ;) BUT if your belief is strong in jewellery being an obstruction, ask your student to remove it. Remember, if your mind is set in some belief, depending on the belief, it can become an energy block of sorts. Get out of the way of Reiki Flow so it can do what it CAN do xo
Attunements do NOT make the student a healer. Remind your students of this.
Attunements make the student a CHANNEL that the healing energy can flow THROUGH.
The energy is drawn in by the recipient, which is directed by Divine Intelligence and knows exactly where to go and what to do. I've said it before and I'll say it again . . .
Get out of the way! ;)
Because of the oral tradition in teaching Reiki, the attunement process and symbols used can vary from Reiki Master to Reiki Master. Keep in mind that this does not affect the power or effectiveness of the Reiki Attunements.
